USAVoter.com is one of the most utilized and
effective online voter information sites. It began
in 1998. Since that time millions of voters have
logged on to learn more about candidates, races, and
basic voting information.
USAVoter.com is not for
profit.
That means no one is trying to make money
from this site. It is hosted by the American Policy
Roundtable and the State Roundtables that
participate each election cycle. These are all
non-profit public policy organizations.
USAVoter in independent.
That means we do not take any money from
political parties or candidates. We are not working
to influence the outcome of any election. That is up
to the voters. Our job is to provide all the data
candidates make available in a fast, convenient,
meaningful fashion.
USAVoter is a public forum
that is supported by charitable contributions.
That means you can use this site free of
charge and distribute the material in any way your
imagination provides. Tell a friend, tell all your
friends about this site. Print out pages and hand
them out in your neighborhood, workplace, church,
school, public library, wherever you choose. Email
everyone on your list and encourage them to use this
site.
Will every race be covered?
Probably not. Different states have
different levels of development. USAVoter applies to
Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, and several other
participating states. Each of those states have
research teams that determine their capacity to
cover races. We will provide links to try to expand
coverage in participating states.
Will every candidate
respond?
Not a chance. Many politicians are
convinced that keeping voters in the dark is the
best way to get elected. We started this process
with a print edition back in 1980. Since that time
we have seen a growing trend of resistance in the
political community. Political professionals just
don't like open debate on issues. They prefer 30
second TV ads that lack substance. Every year we
work on new ways to get you the facts, in spite of
the push back from candidates, their staffs and
consultants.
What's my take-away from USAVoter?
When its crunch time and you have to go
to the polls or help someone with a question you
have a place you can turn. Its fast, free of charge,
and helps you vote with confidence.
